Recall Roundup: October 2019

As the lights go down, you sit at the edge of your seat, watching as the horror movie’s protagonist creeps slowly through a dark house. She’s headed for the kitchen, where something seems to be lurking behind the door. With wide eyes, she reaches out a shaking hand to open the door and face her gruesome fate.

But it’s not a masked killer, a zombie, or a ghoulish monster. It’s . . . a recalled bag of tortilla chips?!

If this was the plot of a real horror film, you’d probably shake your head in disappointment over this strange “twist.” However, it’s true that product recalls pose a very real danger—more real than mummies, vampires, and other Halloween horrors! Any product, from fireworks to vehicles to even the everyday foods in your kitchen, can pose threats if they are negligently made or improperly used.

But there’s no need to be very, very afraid! With our October 2019 edition of Recall Roundup, we’re here to see you through this month’s list of recalled products.

Tricks of Treats?

While October is all about Halloween frights, food also plays a big role! When someone goes wrong with your car, motorcycle, or other vehicle, it can lead to dangers for even the most responsible drivers.

Some of the brands that issue vehicle recalls this month include:

This Halloween, don’t forget to check your home or car while looking for ghosts and zombies! A slasher film or a haunted house might lead to temporary fear, but an injury or illness from a defective product can leading to lasting complications.

Happy Halloween!
